Back from the gym. Kickboxing and Yoga were the scheduled exercises at the gym today. I did them back to back. For me, getting to the gym is always the most difficult part. However, once there it feels so great to move, and oh does it feel good when you are done! Today I noticed that I was by far the largest woman in the gym. It didn't make me feel self conscious in any way. Instead I realized that I, above all the other women there, was the one who had the most to gain by being there!
As good as the kick boxing went, the Yoga did prove to be slightly embarrassing. It was all good until we got to what the instructor called Chaturanga arms pose....I think Pop Eye would have had difficulty doing chaturanga arms. Surely I wasn't going to be able.Although, I wasn't too discouraged, because again I see it as an opportunity to improve. I have tons of opportunity!
I have to admit that even the basic downward dog hurt my wrists. Ouch, does every move have to return to the downward dog?! I spoke to the instructor and she said that it was common for a newbie to have sore wrists, and to expect it for a few months. Great! ....Really I was relived, at least I know it will get better. Again a positive approach! I am only going to get better! By the end of the session in the last few downward dogs, my wrists actually didn't feel too bad!
